It’s the most magical time of the year! I’m excited to be joining some very talented bloggers for this Christmas blog hop, to bring you some decor inspiration for your own Christmas festivities. (Their blogs are linked at the end of this post, so be sure to go check them out!)
I have always been drawn to anything vintage, and wanted to incorporate some vintage touches into my decor this year…
Lots of neutrals with a hint of red and green.
I found this antique mirror this past fall at a vintage market; it is the perfect backdrop for my old sisal trees, sentimental photograph of my mother and aunt with Santa, and my new favorite snowmen figurines! These snowmen were hand sculpted by the talented Cindy from The Faded Barn. I ended up using Cindy’s tutorial from Better Homes and Gardens Craft magazine to make a few more of my own for my Christmas Countdown But I’m convinced nothing is as best as the original thing, and I feel so blessed to have these little treasures in my home.
This “O, Holy Night” music sign makes my heart sing! (no pun intended) haha! It’s one of my favorite Christmas hymns, and makes me tear up every time I hear it. This sign was made by Vanessa from the Hearthwood Home The small bell garland is from Ballard Designs. The gold bells also seem to be a common theme in my home this year.
Also loving these felt and gold bead garland from Michelle (view her easy shop HERE) I don’t know how she did it, but the beads look as if they are gold foiled! They are so pretty! I love them draped here among my stockings:
Another closer look at my “O, Holy Night” sign (above)
And below, just because I couldn’t resist taking a picture of him: my new Santa ornament I found at Target. He was too cute to pass up!
I recently received the old family typewriter from my mom and grandma! I don’t know that anyone else in our family cared for such an heirloom as this. I’ve always wanted a vintage typewriter, and it means even more to me that this is the one my own mom used to learn how to type. She will be sure to tell you that she was able to type 100 words a minute with no mistakes. <3 I love having this typewriter in my home… every time I look at it I can envision my mother as a little girl typing at lightening speed! haha! I added a bit of greenery and a mock letter to Santa to make it more festive for the season.
Somehow I didn’t manage to get a photo of the entire wall where this shelf, typewriter and chalkboard are, but I continued the gold bell theme into my garland, and over my chalkboard.
And that sums up my Christmas living room! Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to check out these other lovely talented friends of mine, as the tour continues in their homes!
